This environmental variable looks good @eastonsuo but I would just make the change directly in blocks.py. Let me push the change here

Should be fixed now @eastonsuo. I confirmed that setting the GRADIO_ROOT_PATH environmental variable sets the default root path, but it can be overridden by the explicit root_path parameter in launch().

Test code:

os.environ["GRADIO_ROOT_PATH"] = "/test"

gr.Interface(lambda x:x, "textbox", "textbox").launch(root_path="")
